BlackBerry Launching BB10 5-Inch Phablet?

Six months ago BlackBerry's future seemed uncertain, as it was still finishing up BlackBerry 10 after facing major delays. The company shipped the first smartphone to run the new OS, the BlackBerry Z10 and its sales have started to turn things around for the smartphone maker. The company is already reportedly building a 5-inch Z-10-like smartphone so it can bring BlackBerry 10 to the phablet world.

Jeffries and Co.'s Peter Misek has raised his expectations for the company's stock, based on sales of the BlackBerry Z10, the upcoming BlackBerry Q10 with QWERTY keyboard and two or three more BlackBerry 10 smartphones before the end of the year.

"Based on our checks we believe confirmation that 2-3 additional BB10 models are likely to launch before year end. A mid-range (i.e., ~$400) keyboard, a mid-range touch, and a 5″ Z10-like device (slated for year end launch)," Misek said.

iTech Post recently did a hands-on conversation about the BlackBerry Z10 and there was more to like about the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry 10 than we originally thought. There's no denying that the success of the BlackBerry Z10 lies mostly in part to the operating system that runs it.

BlackBerry is wise to cover all its bases with its upcoming smartphones, if these reports are to be believed. The BlackBerry Q10 will likely be an even bigger hit for the company that is known for its QWERTY-keyboard-packing smartphones, and phablet fans will enjoy BlackBerry 10 on an even larger 5-inch screen. What a difference a few months can make!
