'Supergirl' Villain Update: 'Hercules' Greek Demi-God Actor Kevin Sorbo Joins Cast

Just days after Terri Hatcher joined the cast of "Supergirl," it was an interesting revelation that Kevin Sorbo from "God's Not Dead," "Kull the Conqueror," and "Hercules" has joined up as well. He also had a "minor" role in the TV series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena: Warrior Princess." Andrew Kreisberg, the executive producer of "Supergirl," welcomes him to the show.

Is Hercules Tougher Than Supergirl?

The "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" veteran actor will have a recurring role and play a shadowy new villain on the Melissa Benoist starrer. Additionally, Sorbo's character and his debut are being kept secret as of now.

"Since his days as Hercules, Kevin Sorbo has brought such a strong presence on the screen, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have him join us on Supergirl," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement.

This marks Sorbo's biggest TV role since his five-seasoned role as Capt. Dylan Hunt on "Andromeda." Repped by TalentWorks and Marsh Entertainment, Sorbo is best identified for his six-season run as Hercules on the syndicated show "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys."

Teri Hatcher, who starred as "Lois Lane in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," is returning to the DC Comics Universe, as she joined Season 2 cast of the CW's "Supergirl." The cast reunites Hatcher with her former onscreen Clark Kent/Superman, Dean Cain, who recurs as Kara's (Benoist) adoptive father.

Sorbo's Still Busy With His Camera Carrier

Sorbo's kept busy with the fantasy film series Mythica and the occasional Fox & Friends figure. He might also still have that show Miracle Man in progress with Sam Raimi, which he play the role of a guy who performs miracles. It's strangely material for Raimi to take on earnestly, but maybe he and Sorbo would have more fun with it than the God's Not Dead team.
