Hideo Kojima Talks About Death Stranding's Story, Gameplay, And Possible Sequel

After the split with his former employer Konami, Hideo Kojima teams up with Sony Computer Entertainment for his new creation entitled Death Stranding. Speaking at the RTX Sydney, Hideo Kojima talks about his newly created and most awaited game.

After teaming up with Sony Computer Entertainment for his Death Stranding game, reports showed that Hideo Kojima received a lot of offers before he decided to work with Sony. He also received an offer outside the gaming industry. Even someone from the United Arab Emirates who offered "a lot of money" was rejected by Kojima.

Hideo Kojima said that he chose to work with Sony because he is already familiar with the company. Also, Kojima said that Sony gave him a 100 percent creative freedom in the game Death Stranding. He also mentioned that working with a big company like Sony Computer Entertainment will help his new creation's success.

Kojima also mentioned that some companies will not even let Norman Reedus show his naked body on Death Stranding's first trailer. He added that this only shows a mutual trust between him and Sony Computer Entertainment. He informed his fans that Death Stranding won't be having a Virtual Reality game and that he had no plans yet for a Death Stranding sequel but he will try to consider if enough demand was made.

Gameplay

Kojima also teased his fans about Death Stranding's gameplay and storyline. He said that Death Stranding will be an open world game that will offer the player a large degree of freedom. Furthermore, the game's story, as Kojima said, will not be dark and most of all, the game is not a horror story. Kojima feels that gamers most of these days are used to playing AAA games on high-end platforms. He said that they will surely feel at home in this kind of game.
