U.S.Cellular Windows Phone 8 Smartphones On Its Way, Guess When?

Windows Phone handsets are getting quite popular after the launch of Windows Phone 8 (WP8) and the rollout of the Windows Phone 7.8 software update. U.S. carrier, U.S. Cellular indicated on its Facebook page that it plans to bring WP8 smartphones to its customers and probably an official announcement will be made in May 2013.

Currently, major mobile phone carriers in the U.S. offer Windows Phone handsets and customers on U.S. Cellular may soon enjoy the taste of WP8 soon, but we don't know which devices will be available from the carrier.

A previous report in June 2012 also indicated that U.S. Cellular will carry WP8 smartphone but the carrier remained mum till now.

"We believe in giving our customers the latest technology and device options and we are excited about the Windows 8 phone. It will be an important part of our device lineup going forward," per a statement released by the U.S. Cellular Public Relations Department in June 2012.

Up to now the carrier just had the Windows Phone 7.5-powered HTC Render in its Windows smartphone portfolio. Nokia, Samsung, HTC and Huawei manufacture WP8 smartphones and currently there are just a handful of WP8 smartphones available in the market. Nokia Lumia 920 is one of the most popular WP8 smartphone available in the market and recent rumors indicate that Verizon will also offer a high-end WP8 smartphone manufactured by Nokia.

If you are a U.S. Cellular owner, are you looking forward to the carrier starting to offer WP8 handsets soon? Which WP8 device do you want the carrier to offer?
