Samsung Galaxy S4 To Launch A Day Earlier On April 26 In India

Samsung fans in India will be able to lay their hands on the Galaxy S4 smartphone a day earlier than expected. Per reports, Samsung has begun sending invitations for a launch event slated to be held on Friday, April 26 in New Delhi.

The successor to the best-selling Galaxy S3 was announced on March 14 this year. The Galaxy S4 smartphone is set to hit more than 30 countries, including India, on April 26.

"Samsung's biggest offering of the year 2013 - Galaxy S4 - will be launched in India on 26 April. The South Korean tech giant has started sending out the invites for the launch event which is going to held in Delhi," reports IBTimes.

Previous reports alluded to an April 27 launch for the smartphone in India. However, with Samsung sending out the invitations for April 26, fans can expect the device to make its way to consumers earlier than expected.

However, at this juncture it is not known if Samsung will start rolling out the Galaxy S4 to retail stores on the same day of the launch. But previous reports indicate that the Galaxy S4 will hit the shelves by first week of May. A strong possibility exists that pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 could start on April 26.

Per reports, the Galaxy S4 will likely sport a price tag of Rs 42,000 in India, but may retail for less — around Rs 40,000 — to compete with the HTC One.

The Galaxy S4 features a 4.99-inch Super AMOLD screen. Globally, the phone is shipping with either the Exynos or a Snapdragon 600 processor, depending on the market. It is expected that consumers in India would get the Exynos 5 variant owing to the lack of LTE networks in the region.

The Galaxy S4 comes in three storage options: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB in two hues (black and white).

With the launch of the Galaxy S4, consumers in India will have another flagship phone (apart from the Xperia Z and HTC One) to choose from.
