‘The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Update: Nina Dobrev Says Goodbye To The Series As It Wraps Up

Popular actress, Nina Dobrev has posted an emotional message for “The Vampire Diaries” as the said series prepares to wrap up. The said series is in its final season and it is already approaching its last few episodes. Dobrev posted her goodbye message on her official Instagram account.

She addressed the message to her TVD family and started the message saying how it felt like it was just yesterday when she actually said goodbye to the series. Nina Dobrev left “The Vampire Diaries” in 2015 after the sixth season and has not been on it since then. She though has returned in Season 7 just to voice over that season’s final episode.

Two years later, Dobrev found herself back in the series and revealed that she had just finished shooting her last scene in the series finale of “The Vampire Diaries”, saying her final true goodbye to the series. She admitted thru the message that coming back to the popular show caused her a whirlwind of emotions and nostalgia. She has revealed that the series finale was the beautiful closure that everyone needed, including herself and she could not be any happier coming home to her family and friends on “The Vampire Diaries” production set.

She heads on to talk about in her message how the last chapter will open new doors to new journeys for her and the rest of the cast. She thanked the production team who had earnestly worked on the series as well as her fans, who have been there for her, supporting her in all her endeavors. She ended the long emotional message signing off as Katherine, Amara, Tatia, and Elena Gilbert, which were all the characters she portrayed in “The Vampire Diaries” series.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 is the final season of the series and it kicked off on Oct. 21 last year. The series finale will be aired on March 10 on The CW. This last season of the said popular series will air 16 episodes only, unlike its previous seasons that had aired 22 episodes each.
