Since the initial announcement of "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite," there has been very little news regarding the overall gameplay and roster. However, judging by popularity and fan favoritism, will these characters make their way into the game?
The upcoming fighting game made its big debut during PlayStation Experience 2016 and fans have been in a heated debate regarding the potential cast ever since then. The lack of information is already beginning to upset some fans as they have taken to various forums to complain, as per Digital Trends. Despite the pleas for more information from fans, Capcom has yet to reveal anything new about the title.
Because of this, fans are left to speculate regarding which characters will join the game, representing either Capcom or Marvel. Some players are still worrying over the inclusion of the X-Men who have been iconic characters in the franchise. Since Marvel has been discouraging the use of these characters lately, their fates in the fighting game are still unknown.
Fan Favorite Characters for the "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite" Roster
Instead, it seems like Marvel might be trying to promote their latest iconic personalities that have amassed their own fan following. Since "Guardians of the Galaxy" was a major hit, it would not seem off for the game to include Star-Lord or even Groot in "Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite." On the other hand, Venom also seems to be popular among the fans while there is also the potential for Baymax to join the fray.
On the other hand, classic Capcom characters like Leron Kennedy or Nemesis might make their way into the group. The inclusion of Mega Man was a smart move as fans had been questioning the lack of his appearance in the previous installment. With him aside, Capcom can focus on bringing in other characters Phoenix Wright who was also in-demand. Furthermore, icons from "Asura's Wrath" could possibly make their appearance judging from its solid fanbase.
The Six Currently Confirmed Characters
So far, the only confirms characters are Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Ryu, Mega Man X and Morrigan, as per another Digital Trends report. Creative director Bill Rosemann claimed that the upcoming title will be taking a "forward-thinking stance" with its characters hinting that most of the characters on one side will be coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Is spite of this, he claimed that the "heritage" is not lost, referencing the X-Men concerns.
Even if the main roster will not include the complete desired cast, there is always the possibility of downloadable content (DLC). Fans will have to wait for further details about "Marvel Vs Capcom: Infinite." The game will launch in the future on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
