Galaxy Note 8.0 Pre-Order On Samsung India eStore Now

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet, which was just released in the U.S. earlier this month, is now up for pre-order in India, as promised back in February at the Mobile World Congress, where the tablet was first unveiled.

For those who wish to pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 — also known as the Galaxy Note 510 — in India, you can do so for Rs 30,900 ($570.27).

It's not an incredibly cheap price for those who want to pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet in India for Rs 30,900, as stores elsewhere — such as Staples — are selling the device over here in the States for less than $400 (Rs 21,674).

In its report on the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in India and the pre-order price published on Thursday, April 25, DNA India adds that pre-orders for the device in India will also come with a "book cover" worth Rs 2,699 ($50).

The book cover doesn't exactly make up for the vast price difference in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 being pre-ordered in India versus what one can get in the States, but considering shipping costs and other such considerations as network capability and language, a slightly more expensive Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in India may be better than none at all.

Specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which right now only comes in a white variant, in India or anywhere else, are:

  • 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor
  • 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory (microSD card slot can be used to expand memory)
  • 4,600 mAh battery
  • 8-inch 1280×800 pixel display
  • Runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. to expand the memory
  • 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera

DNA India reminds us that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 also allows for use of SIM cards and can even be employed as a phone, "though we are not big fans of making calls by slapping a 8-inch display against our cheeks."

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 also employs an S-pen and has a number of features that allow for perfect utilization of the pen.
