You Can't Play All Nintendo Switch Games On A TV

To many, the Nintendo Switch seems like a breath of fresh air from the launch of Wii U. A little over four months since the announcement of the Switch and now, only three days left before its official release date. However, before the Nintendo's latest console will go on sale, a revelation claimed that you can't play all Nintendo Switch games on a television.

Nintendo Switch Games Can't Be Played On A TV

Voez is a rhythm game developed by Rayark Games and was released on May 26, for iOS and June 2 for the Android version. Rayark Games, an independent game developer in Taiwan, just announced that the game would have its launch title in Japan for the Nintendo Switch. An official document was released and it is containing some frequently asked questions as well as answers to the game's Switch support.

According to ShackNews, using NeoGAF video game forum, it was revealed that TV Mode is not an option for the problem. "This software can not play in TV mode. Touch the touch screen in the mobile mode to play the game. Button operation is not available." The original announcement of a touch-screen only game is unusual, but really should not be unexpected.

When the Nintendo Switch was first revealed last year, Nintendo didn't confirm whether or not it was equipped with a touchscreen feature. After we learned that has the touchscreen, it never addressed that there is a possibility that the games will require it and, therefore, it is considered the handheld mode. As reported by GameSpot, it's still unclear if the developers of the console will also be permitted to create games that are only playable in TV mode.

Nintendo Switch Release Date

The official release date of the Nintendo Switch is on March 3, 2017, and it will retail for $299.99. The console will be unveiled together with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well as 1-2 Switch, Just Dance 2017 and Skylanders Imaginators. A report also claimed that there will be other first and third party games including a brand new sandbox Mario adventure and Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.
