Xbox Game Pass Subscription Service Announced By Microsoft

Phil Spencer, Xbox head, made a recent announcement about the plans of introducing a gaming subscription service intended for Xbox One players. It will be called Xbox Game Pass and will be expected in the later part of spring time. This Xbox Game Pass will allow players to have unlimited access to more than 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 games for only $9.99 price per month.

Spencer did not list the complete set of games that will be made available as soon as the Xbox Game Pass goes live. However, he did mention in a post on Microsoft's site that it will include fan favorites like Halo 5: Guardians, NBA 2K16, Saints Row IV Re-Elected, Mad Max, LEGO Batman, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. In addition, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Terraria, Payday 2, SoulCalibur II, Tekken Tag 2, and Fable III are also included.

There was also a revelation about the games that will be made available, which will be coming from an excess number of industry publishers. It will include 2K, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, 505 Games, Capcom, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, SEGA, and Microsoft Studios.

Spencer also noted that it would not be a cloud-based streaming service. It will instead become similar to EA Access subscription service that is already available on Xbox One. It will be allowing gamers to download full titles into their consoles and they can play like any other title that they own, according to Game Rant. Xbox Game Pass members will also be able to receive exclusive discounts for its add-ons and DLCs that will come along with the games that will be made available for the service.

Spencer did not give a certain launching date for its Xbox Game Pass. However, he said that Microsoft would be testing the service into selected members of the Xbox Insider Program beginning today.
