Sony's PS4 Marketing Slogan Leaks, 'Greatness Awaits'

Part of a script for a Sony PS4 commercial has leaked online, apparently revealing the next gen console’s slogan: “Greatness Awaits.”

The next great console war has begun, and amid all the tech demos and “always-on” madness, Sony and Microsoft will start pushing out the high-budget, high-concept advertisements to whet gamers’ appetites.

First up is Sony, as a commercial script has leaked online, courtesy of Siliconera.

The ad starts with a man walking alone down an empty road toward the camera.

“Who are you not to be great? You, with the imagination of a brilliant child and the powers of an ancient god. Who are you to be ordinary? You, who could get away with murder, or raise the dead,” he says.

The buildings around the man start to look damaged.

“Who are you to be anonymous? You, whose name should be spoken in reverent tones or in terrified whispers.”

There is a screech in the distance and some windows blow out. Two people covered in yellow paint run past the man.

“Who are you to be afraid? You, who can serve as judge and jury while hoarding infinite lives.”

People begin to follow the man, including one on a BMX bike.

“Who are you to be a slave to the past? You who can travel time like the oceans and rewrite history with a single word.”

The man raises his voice, and a flag with the Destiny symbol comes out of a broken window.

“Who are you to deny greatness? If you would deny it to yourself, you deny it to the entire world.”

A loud roar breaks the silence.

“And we will not be denied.”

Killzone fans will recognize an aircraft that flies overhead as the man and his followers join a massive battle that includes robots, dragons, and soccer players.

The ad closes with superimposed type that first reads “Greatness Awaits” and then “Playstation.”

The script supposedly comes from the same source that outed the PSP “Step Your Game Up” campaign from 2010.

For now we will just have to wait and see if this ad resembles the eventual PS4 advertisements sure to hit later this year.
