Daft Punk: Random Access Memories Leaked On iTunes (For Real This Time)

Some of you might recall a March article we were a little too eager to publish about a Daft Punk: Random Access Memories leak. That turned out to be a hoax, but now it looks like the album has leaked for real, and the culprit appears to be none other than Cupertino's favorite corporate son, Apple.

It's unclear how or why it happened, but the new Daft Punk album Random Access Memories is available in full on the iTunes music store. Random Access Memories is due to be released next week and it's unclear if the album's appearance on iTunes is some kind of guerilla marketing tactic or simply an epic IT fail, but you can stream it right now.

Several sources have already reported the story and Gizmodo was one of the first to break the news. The iTunes leak follows an earlier one where a low-quality version of the album was leaked to the Internet, but Daft Punk is likely a little more annoyed with Random Access Memories being leaked somewhere as prominent as Apple's iTunes store. Or not - they may have planned the entire thing. It's also very possible that the album went up on iTunes in response to the leaked version released earlier.

Daft Punk's Random Access Memories has been one of the most hyped albums of the year, with the French duo's faithful legion of fans devouring every 30-second clip leaked from the record with an insatiable appetite. Random Access Memories features Pharrell, Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas and producer Giorgio Moroder.
