OnePlus had handled to break into the competitive smartphone arena with their affordable and powerful flagship smartphone offerings a few years ago. The company has continued with their "flagship killer" line-up and recent leaks reveal that all new OnePlus 5 may be in the works and can be announced this year. Google's Pixel smartphone was a hit when it launched in October last year with many tech analysts saying it rivaled the Apple iPhone 7. Head of Google's hardware department, Rick Osterloh confirmed during an appearance at MWC 2017, that the Pixel 2 is on its way this year. Google's Pixel lineup is already known for being a premium smartphone with build quality. Which upcoming smartphone you should get this year?

The OnePlus 5

The next generation OnePlus flagship is expected to come with some killer specs. The rumored dual-edge screen is said to be a highlight of the handset, apart from a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Other rumored details suggested for the OnePlus 5 include a 23-megapixel rear camera. The OnePlus 5 is said to come with a large 4,000 mAh battery and a whopping 8GB of RAM. However, it has to be noted that it may be too early to speculate and fans all over the world would most likely have to wait until OnePlus officially makes an official announcement regarding their upcoming "flagship killer."

The Google Pixel 2

The Google Pixel 2 will be the next flagship device, that will come with pretty much all the top end specs available. The phone is said to come with 18:9 QHD+ Display, waterproof, and when it comes to specs, the Pixel 2 will no doubt have the latest and greatest components. Reports claimed that there'll be a Snapdragon 835 and will be capable of Quick Charge 4.0. Reports have also suggested that the Pixel 2's camera is set for a massive upgrade, with Google reportedly looking at a sensor that will enable the device to excel at low-light photography. Pixel 2 is said to be the first to run Google's new Android 8.0 Oreo, which is heavily rumored to be the new version of the company's mobile software.

According to the reports, OnePlus 5 price will roughly be around $420 USD which means it will be at a mid-level price range device. The same as OnePlus is keen on bringing superb specs and better features at a more reasonable cost always. If you're looking for a powerful phone but doesn't want to spend your hard-earned money, OnePlus 5 is a great choice. Meanwhile, Pixel 2 offers the best in line specs, an excellent camera, a great display, as well as the latest hardware and software. Pixel 2 could be significantly more expensive but you're definitely getting your money's worth here in that regard, so this premium flagship might be just right for you.
