Mass Effect: Andromeda Character Creation And Presets Guide

Players take their precious time in the character creation screen of any game and there's just something about personalizing the character that appeals to them. In Mass Effect: Andromeda, however, it's not just Ryder's appearance, but what kind of skills and power they want them to have to take into account. Here's a guide on character creation for Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Character Creation Guide

In Mass Effect: Andromeda, players can either choose to be Sarah Ryder or Scott Ryder depending on the gender they want their character to be. Anyone can choose either of the two and they can be set either to their Default Appearance or they can be customized however the player wished.

The game will then ask to choose the training for the player's Ryder that determines what power and skills the character has. This is the same as "character classes" but is less restrictive in Mass Effect: Andromeda than the previous Mass Effect games. The training the player chooses is going to be Ryder's technical background and what they specialize in.

There are six training options to choose from in Mass Effect: Andromeda and they are Security, Biotic, Technician, Leader, Scrapper and Operative. Each class or training has one starting power and two immediate unlocked skills. Starting Power is the skill that Ryder can use immediately when they start the game. The Unlocked Skills are early skills given to a specific Training, which is otherwise locked to others. Locked skills can be unlocked but will require a certain amount of skill points.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Training And Character Class

Security training is basically the Soldier class from the previous game. This gives Ryder the Concussive Shot ability as Starting Power, which lets them fire a heat-seeking high impact rounds. This training's focus is on weapons and tactics in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Biotic has the ability to control mass effect fields and Technician operates drones and hack systems similar to Engineer from the original trilogy.

Leader is the Sentinel's training of Mass Effect: Andromeda. Scrapper is the Vanguard of the original trilogy. Operative is the infiltrator and has the ability tactical cloak, which gives Ryder the ability to become invisible.
