2018 Dodge Demon: Extreme Challenger Car Has A Unique Cooling Tech No Other Car Has

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the first ever, factory production car with a liquid-to-air charge air cooler chiller system. This exclusive performance feature allows the Challenger SRT Demon to achieve charge air induction temperatures previously that were unattained by pressure-charged street-legal production vehicles. Conventional cooling methods consist of simply using air or coolant to lower the air induction temperature as it is passed through the charge air cooler.

When in Drag Mode, the Challenger SRT Demon interior air conditioning system is shifted to chill the engine's charge air cooling system. As a result, up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit reduction in intake air temperature. Moreover, the SRT Demon will basically be a single seater, considering the removal of the front passenger's seat and the rear bench, however, with an option to put the seats back at least for one person. The car will be equipped with standard and reserve drag radials and will go down in history as such, along with 18×11 alloy wheels. Several drive line updates and a trick to launch the control system are one of the many new features, according to a source. The Challenger SRT Demon should be 215 lbs or 97.5kg lighter compared to the Hellcat, according to the report from an official statement by Dodge.

The company's decision to ditch most of the soundproof material from the cabin, the spare tire and the trunk lining are some of the main reasons why this model is going to lose 215 lbs. Also, the steering wheel is going to be manually adjusted and the audio system will only have two speakers. However, Dodge has not given any specific details about the engine. On the other note, as for the launch date, Demon is all set on April 11, at the 2017 New York Auto Show. Expect a base price nearly $80,000 mark, and also has a limited production run.
