Darkeater Midir is an optional boss that can be unlocked in the Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City between the trek back from the Shared Grave bonfire to the Ringed Inner Wall. Darkeater Midir is an insanely tough boss due to his high defense so defeating him might be easier for skilled and patient players. Here's a guide on how to defeat Darkeater Midir.

Unlock Darkeater Midir In Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City

There are many reasons why everyone confident enough should try to defeat Darkeater Midir in Darks Souls 3: The Ringed City. He drops NG (150 000), NG+ (300 000), NG++ (330 000), NG+3 (396 000), NG+4 (??), NG+5 (??), NG+6 (??), NG+7 (??), Soul of Darkeater Midir and the Spears of the Church covenant badge. He can be encountered twice and the second one is the optional boss fight and has a specific pre-requisite to unlock.

Players will encounter Darkeater Midir from the Shared Grave bonfire and will see him plastered on a cliff. As the player charge him, it's best to hide behind the rock as he'll be spewing flames initially in Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City. When the flame is gone, head straight for his left hand and focus all attacks on it. According to YouTuber Fextralife, it's best to be in a position where the player has a great view of his body so it's easier to see and dodge attacks when they're coming.

Darkeater Midir is easier to read in the first initial encounter so anticipating his attacks and dodging them might be a no-brainer for some. When they have successfully beaten Darkeater Midir on the cliff in Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City, finishing him off by dropping him off the cliff will unlock the second encounter. The key to defeating Darkeater Midir in the optional boss fight is observing him critically. He'll charge at the player immediately; dodge by rolling as fast as possible away from the direction. Dodging some of his fire attacks may sometimes be impossible so it's suggested to have items that grant fire-resist when battling him in Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City.

It is best to charge him immediately and stay close behind him as any attempts at long ranged attacks is ineffective. It's easy to miss Darkeater Midir in Darks Souls 3: The Ringed City and the best part to target is his tail by staying very close to it.
