World's Fastest Cars And Why They Have The Speed

In a time where the world is offered with countless opportunities to develop with the help of modern technology, anything is possible. Vehicles have progressed in terms of speed and performance for several decades. The top three fastest cars in the world prove why they’re the latest speedsters to hit the road.

Hennessey Venom GT

The Hennessey Venom GT is a supercar that boasts of more than 1,450 horsepower paired up with a forced induction 7.0-liter V8 engine. Because of this, it is reportedly the third most powerful car. In February 2014, it set off a new world speed record when it reached a top speed of 270.49 mph.

Aside from setting a new speed record, it also holds the unofficial records for being the fastest accelerating car in the world. Hennessey Venom GT is the automaker’s highest performance sports car manufactured to date. Its single unit special edition, which is called the Final Edition uses the Spyder model’s chassis components and engine.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Volkswagen was keen on building the fastest car in the world when it bought Bugatti and so the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport was born. It holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest production car and even had a debate over it with the makers of the Hennessey Venom GT. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has a top speed record of 268 mph and it boasts of a 1,200 PS paired with a revised aerodynamic package. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is an upgraded version of the Bugatti Veyron 6.4 and there were only 30 units put up for sale.

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

Dodge continue to surprise people with its relentless determination to create top-performing muscle cars. The Challenger SRT Demon has yet to hit the roads, let alone the market but it has already been dubbed as the world’s fastest car. Though it has yet to prove its worth, the limited-edition car packs up 840 horsepower coupled with an all-new 6.2-liter V8 engine and a 2.7-liter supercharger.

Dodge has even made sure that its drag strip tires are legal enough for the road and they have been designed specifically to withstand the power output of the Challenger SRT Demon, making it the first production car to have drag radial road tires. There will only be 3,000 units available for sale in the United States and the price has yet to be revealed in the next months.
