Overwatch Genji's Recent Buff Might Have Made Him Overpowered

Overwatch hero Genji has gotten a recent quality of life buff on his Dragonstrike but it seems to have made him a bit overpowered. Meanwhile, Reinhardt and Soldier 76 have gotten several nerfs in the public test realm (PTR).

Overwatch Hero Genji's Dragonstrike Exploit

Blizzard made an adjustment towards Genji's ultimate ability on the PTR recently as sometimes players could not get the full value out of it due to latency issues. His swing speed has been increased so all players could get the right amount of swings which should only be seven. However, this "quality of life" change has made him a bit too overpowered.

According to PVPLive, players can cancel the animation on his ultimate ability by wall climbing in between swings. If he combines this with quick strikes, fans can get a total of a whopping 10 slashes. This would make the hero extremely powerful on maps that have walls close to the capture points like Volskaya Industries and Ilios.

Latest Nerfs On The PTR

However, it does not seem like this was Blizzard's main intention and fans might see more changes soon enough. That aside, Soldier 76 and Reinhardt are getting a few nerfs in the PTR following the latest patch, as per PCGamer. To begin with, the Earthshatter ultimate ability has been reduced from three to two meters in terms of height and width. Blizzard claimed that this ability could often knock down players that were significantly above the ground.

Soldier 76, on the other hand now only has a total of 19 clips instead of the original 20. The developers stated that he has a good place in the game but his damage output was making him a must pick.

These latest changes are currently live on the PTR with no word regarding when they will hit the live servers. Overwatch is now available on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
