'Rainbow Six Siege' Gets Two New Birthday Celebration Events

Rainbow Six Siege continues its birthday celebrations by launching two new challenges to unlock some exclusive charms. Meanwhile, queue times have been improved for better matchmaking.

According to PVP Live, the game will be focusing on Smoke and Kapkan in the latest birthday challenge wherein fans can earn unique charms they can attach to their weapons. Just like with the previous challenge, fans will have to use the Ubisoft Club app and fins under certain factions.

To unlock the Smoke Medallion charm, fans must win 20 rounds, be it attack or Defense, using any S.A.S. operator. The following operators usable for this challenge are Mute, Smoke, Thatcher, and Sledge. The Kapkan Medallion charm, on the other hand, still requires 20 rounds but with any Spetsnaz operator instead. Only Glaz, Fuze, Tachanka and Kapkan fall under this particular operator category.

That aside, SegmentNext shares that matchmaking times have been addressed with the Rainbow Six Siege developers explaining the reason behind the long queue times. They are supposedly trying to tie in competitive MMR into casual games and want players to experience the same kind of balance like in competitive play. They are aware that Diamond players often get matched up with Gold or Silver players, which can lead to unsatisfying fights for both parties.

However, they also claimed that these changes are not permanent as they plan on patching the problem soon enough. In line with this, it seems like they will also introduce the new operators this month, as per Express. While Ubisoft has yet to reveal any major details, two new operators are set to be released very soon along with a new map, gadgets, and weapons.

For now, fans will have to wait for further news regarding new Rainbow Six Siege content. The ongoing birthday challenges will last until May 16 so players should make the most out of it until then.
