The Moto Z2 Benchmark Leak Is Impressive And Samsung Galaxy S8 Should Worry

Benchmark tests are good ways of gauging how great a device would be and from the looks of this Geekbench leak, the new Moto Z2 is one heck of a smartphone. The benchmark test results, which were leaked on June 7, indicated that a device that goes by Moto Z2 will prove worrisome for the popular and powerful Samsung Galaxy S8.

As reported by 9to5Google, the Moto Z2 scores were at par with the Galaxy S8. It scored 1,879 points in the single-core category while also garnering 6,503 points in the multi-core Geekbench test. The leak also showed that the Moto Z2 will run on the Android 7.1.1 operating system and will come with 4GB of RAM. What's even more intriguing with this new leak is that the Moto Z2 will supposedly be powered by Qualcomm's latest processor, the Snapdragon 835. This means the Moto Z2 device in the leak will likely be Motorola's flagship smartphone for this year.

As Android Headlines pointed out, the Moto Z2 device is likely not the upcoming Moto Z2 Play which was announced earlier. The midrange Moto Z2 Play will be powered by the Snapdragon 626 and will also come with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. The Moto Z2 Play will sport a 5.5-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The modular phone is already making some noise with reports saying it will have support for the Moto Mods.

Motorola has a healthy line-up of new smartphones that will be released this year. Among them are the Moto Z2 Force and the aforementioned Moto Z2. Aside from the details provided by the leak, little is known about the Moto Z2. Some of the rumors that previously surfaced say that the Moto Z2 will have a dual camera setup at the rear along with dual-LED flash. It will also supposedly come with a fingerprint sensor mounted at the front.
