2018 Jeep Wrangler Leaked 4WD Option Prior To Launch
Details for the upcoming 2018 Jeep Wrangler are now floating on the web, ahead of the grand launch of the new model. An alleged screenshot of an internal computer system of one of the automaker's dealers reflected a long list of specs and features. One detail that stood out is the new 4WD option for the new Jeep.
The alleged leaked information showed the upcoming Jeep will come with the new Selec-Trac 4WD system. This option is the biggest reveal from the list. Unfortunately, it remains unclear on what kind of Selec-Trac the automaker has prepared for this model.
Jeep enthusiasts may recall that the brand has previously offered two kinds of Selec-Trac. The latest kind of the Cherokee system runs through a switch that enables the model to transfer from one driving mode to another. Whereas, the other kind of Selec-Trac was featured in the Grand Wagoneer.
With regard to engine options, the brand will offer three. The list confirmed the 2.0-liter turbo four cylinder engine for the base model. There is also the upgraded 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine variant. Another option is the 3.0-liter turbo diesel V6 engine.
For transmissions, the leak unveiled two eight-speed automatic type. The list also mentioned a six-speed manual. Buyers could also expect the model to come with a push button start feature.
The upcoming Jeep retains its soft top. The list specified a premium soft top and a premium Sunrider soft top. It would also come in the new color, black powder.
In terms of body paint variants, the leak revealed an interesting new color, Nacho Clear Coat. The brand also prepared colors like Firecracker Red, Bright White Clear Coat, Black Clear Coat and Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat.
Moreover, the list also included something that would not likely please the fans of Wrangler. The specs unveiled that the automaker only prepared a four-door option for the Sahara trim.
