Samsung Galaxy Note 3 prototype, Galaxy S4 with Snapdragon 800 chip 'spotted'

The excitement of Samsung fans continues to build up as more rumors and speculations about its next devices pop up on the Internet. The latest is a leaked image of an alleged prototype of the Galaxy Note 3 and a purported Antutu benchmark results of a Galaxy S4 variant using a Snapdragon 800.

The leaked image of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 prototype tease the facelift made by the manufacturer to the phablet. The upcoming Galaxy Note 3, based on the leaked image, features curved corners and a generous screen real estate.

The image of the third generation Samsung phablet was first posted on the blog SamMobile in collaboration with another blog TechTastic.

"We just got our hands on a prototype of the Galaxy Note III," reported SamMobile. "The device self [sic] looks like a prototype body and we couldn't confirm any SPEN functions yet," it added.

The folks over at TechTastic added that Samsung fans can expect more details soon.

"Unfortunately we will have to wait a couple of month [sic] until the official announcement at IFA 2013 in Berlin," the report said.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip or an Exynos eight-core processor, 5.99-inch Super AMOLED high definition screen, and a 13-megapixel main camera. It might run on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 right out of the box, with the Samsung's skin on top.

Meanwhile, it seems Samsung can't have enough of Galaxy S4. Close on the heels of official announcement of several variants of the Galaxy S4 in the previous weeks such as the Google Edition, Active and Mini, there are now reports that another variant of the Galaxy S4 might be rolled out soon by Samsung. This stemmed from an AnTuTu benchmark that hints of a Galaxy S4 equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC.

The snapshot of the AnTuTu benchmark for the said Galaxy S4 showed that the phone was read by the system as SHV-E330S, it runs on Android 4.2.2, and is equipped with a 2.3GHz processor. However, the device only scored 24179, lower than the current variants of the Galaxy S4. The scores of the other S4 variants might have also been low during the development phase.

Based on the Google translated report of RBMen that first spotted the AnTuTu benchmark for the S4 in development, the Samsung prototype might be the S4 LTE-Advanced that is expected to hit the South Korean market in September.
