iPhone 5.7 concept gives an early peak at Apple's rumored phablet (Video)

Apple is rumored to be working new iPhones for 2014 that will reportedly include a 4.7-inch smartphone and a 5.7-inch phablet. A new iPhone 5.7 concept video gives some insight on what the company may have in store for the future.

The smartphone world has been headed towards devices with larger displays for the past couple of years. Steve Jobs famously claimed that the 3.5-inch touchscreen found on the iPhone was the perfect size for consumers. He believed that Android smartphones coming to the market with 4-inch displays were going to be dead on arrival because consumers would feel that the devices were too big to comfortably hold. Consumers didn't seem to believe this and 4-inch-and-over displays have become the standard size for smartphones today.

In a world where the 4.3-inch Galaxy S4 mini can be put into "mini" category, Apple has had to rethink its strategy. The company moved away from the perfect 3.5-inch size with the iPhone 5, it grew by half an inch. Apple is now believed to be working on two new iPhones with a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch display. T3 has created an iPhone 5.7 concept render video to give the world an idea on what an Apple phablet could look like.

The iPhone 5.7 would feature a 5.7-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Retina Display with 386ppi (pixels per inch) and have thinner bezels around its display. The current iPhone 5 has a 4-inch 1136 x 640 Retina Display with 326ppi in comparison, and is shown off in the video to give you an idea of how Apple might perfect a much larger iPhone. The phablet would be powered by a quad-core A7 processor. It would be 5.9-inches in height, 3.16 inches in width, 0.30 inches in depth, and weigh 6.34 ounces.

Current rumors claim that Apple is expected to launch the 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhones in the beginning of 2014. The 4.7-inch model would likely be the iPhone 6 and would be meant to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One, while the 5.7-inch iPhone would be the company's first phablet. It would likely battle the Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Max in the growing phablet market.

This is only a concept video, but it certainly looks like something that could and probably will come out of Cupertino in the future.
