Anonymous Continues Hacking of Russia, Targets Streaming Services

Anonymous, the anti-war cyber activist is out in the field helping combat fake news in Russia. The group organized a hack of all the Russian TVs and streaming platforms to show real footage of the devastation to Ukraine.

Anonymous first resurfaced again after Russia waged a special military operation on Ukraine last month.

The cyber group posted last month that it is gearing up to fight against imperialism. And things are now slowly unfolding.

Anonymous Hacks Russian TV

The cyber group Anonymous hacked Russian television again. As reported by The Independent, the group managed to breach all of the streaming channels in Russia and show on the ground footage of devastation in Ukraine.

According to Google translate, the last tweet reads: "We are ordinary citizens of Russia- we oppose the war on the territory of Ukraine. Russia and Russians are against the war! This war is tied up by the criminal, authoritarian regime of Putin on behalf of ordinary citizens of the Russian Federation. Russians, oppose the genocide in Ukraine."

Just recently, the lower chamber of the Russian parliamentary government passed a law against fake news. This law threatens those who publish what the government considers to be false information about the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It was reported that those found guilty face a fine of approximately $14,000 or a prison sentence of up to 15 years if convicted.

The aired footage shows the devastation of bombing in the residential infrastructures of Ukraine caused by the aggression of Russian military forces. The end clip also shows a missile in the middle of the road amidst the rubbles of the bombed surroundings.

According to Fortune, the video was broadcast on Russia 24, Moscow 24, Channel One, Wink, and Ivi. Anonymous then clarified in their Twitter account that all Russian state television channels have been compromised.

Anonymous and Squad 303

An online tool developed by the Squad 303 hacker group is available at https://1920.in. It allows users to send text messages to random Russians using a pre-written message.

Squad 303 has encouraged numerous citizens around the world to send a text message using the website In order to circumvent Russian censorship and combat Putin's disinformation, the action must be carried out outside of the country. This was created in the efforts of Squad 303 helping Anonymous with its aim of freeing Ukraine.

Squad 303 tweeted: "Let Russians know what happens in #Ukraine. Send them text message via https://1920.in Tear down the wall of Russian propaganda and censorship! Let them know the truth. Let them know the power of the free world! #FightForUkraine #FreeUkraine"

As of today, March 8, Squad 303 has sent 5,000,000 messages to Russian people on the ongoing aggression in Ukraine.

There are multiple Anonymous accounts existing, the group does not have one official Twitter account since Anonymous is a civilian group that has members around the world.

With the Anonymous account below, it looks like Anonymous is not putting a stop to their hacks anytime soon. Anonymous has recently gained control of 400+ Russian cameras while displaying an important message. The message reads " Putin is killing children, 352 Ukraine civilians dead. Russians lied to 200RF.com. Slava Ukraine! Hacked by Anonymous"

With the ongoing efforts of the anti-war cyber group Anonymous, numerous hackers around the world are gathering and it seems like there is more to come.
