Itch.io Launches Support Bundle for Ukraine: $10 Purchase Grants $6500 Worth of Games, Books, and Music

Necrosoft Games and over 700 creators are working together to create a fundraiser program. For a minimum donation of $10, consumers can buy a massive collection of nearly 1000 games, books, and music.

The "Bundle for Ukraine" is a fundraiser program that aims to split all its proceeds between two charities.

First is the International Medical Corps which is a medical assistance organization, and second is the Voices of Children which is a Ukrainian organization that "helps children cope with the horrors of war, PTSD, readjusting to school, and getting back to being kids."

What is Itch.io: The Bundle for Ukraine

Full details for the Bundle For Ukraine are available on Itch.io official website. Note that this bundle is only available for 10 days, and so products listed would probably return to retail price once the offer ends.

The product description noted that "of these nearly 1,000 products, more than 600 have never been in a major bundle before."

The bundle is comprised of "almost 600 digital video games, over 300 analog tabletop RPGs, and dozens of asset packs, books, zines, and comics, soundtracks/music, and a host of other products."

Necrosoft Games estimated that the 991 items in this bundle are approximately worth $6,544 in total. However, as previously mentioned, interested fans can buy the whole bundle at $10.

Developers "highly urge (supporters) to pay above the minimum." Interested consumers can show do this by adding a few dollars upon checkout.

Lastly, buyers are being warned that "No Steam (or other external keys) will be given for bundle purchases." All games would be directly downloaded from the Itch.io page.

Other Support Programs on Itch.io

It is worth mentioning that many other charity bundles have already been launched in Itch.io. According to TechRaptor, the site already supported a legal defense and a community bail fund, aid for Palestine, and support for LGBTQ+ developers. So it is not completely surprising to see them start a support program for Ukraine.

At the time of writing, the Bundle for Ukraine already amassed $284,876.50 purchases, which is 28% of its goal to reach 1 million dollars. The money is provided by over 18,851 contributors.

At the pace the poll is moving, PCgamer speculates the program might reach its goal before the 10 days are complete. Many hope that this program can help to those affected in Ukraine.
