Peloton Adds Apple Watch Integration for All Machines — Here's How It Works

Peloton's Bike, Bike Plus, and Tread will now have an Apple Watch integration.

Peloton hopes that the integration of their app to the Apple Watch will bring more ease to their customers in tracking their progress and fitness goals.

This would make it easier for users to access their Strive Score and heart rate monitor using Bike, Bike+, Tread, or App in real time.

Apple Watch Integration for Peloton

Peloton is stepping up its game by helping users track their workout performance easier, quicker, and more accessible.

Peloton just recently announced that through the use of a single tap on an Apple Watch, users can now track their performance during any Peloton workout on Bike, Bike+, Tread, or App, regardless of the platform.

When using this feature, Peloton customers on Bike, Bike Plus, or Tread will receive an alert from the Peloton watch app when they begin a class.

According to The Verge, the integration of Peloton to Apple Watch will also work for classes that have been started through the app. Users are also given the option to begin recording workouts in advance of their scheduled time.

If users enable this feature, the Apple Watch can also function as a heart rate monitor, allowing users to view the Strive Score feature on Peloton. It is possible to calculate one's Strive Score by calculating how much time one spends in a specific heart rate zone. Peloton stated

"Heart rate monitoring will continue for the duration of your class. Peloton will use your heart rate to calculate your Strive Score-a personal, noncompetitive metric that measures how much time you spend in each heart rate zone to track how hard you're working out."

Peloton also added that the results of all the user's workouts, including cycling, strength training, high intensity interval training (HIIT), and bootcamp classes, will be easily compared using this feature.

Users will also find it easier to log their Peloton workouts in their Apple's Activity app.

How to Install?

To enjoy the seamless fitness tracking using the Peloton App on your Apple Watch, here are a few steps on how to connect the Peloton app to the Apple Watch.

Users can start by downloading the Peloton App from the user's phone or tablet device and to the user's Apple Watch.

After that, launch the Peloton App on your smartphone. Then select "More," tap "Apple Watch", click "Set Up," then select "Connect to Health App" appearing on the screen. Using this method, the Health App on the user's device will be launched.

To allow the Peloton App to access the user's health data, go to the Health App and select "Turn on All." Go back to the Peloton App and select "Done" once more.

After that, users can open the Peloton App on their Apple Watch. It will ask users for permission to send notifications before proceeding. Lastly, select "Allow".

This integration is unfortunately not automatic, however, Peloton states that when done once, users are already good to go since this is a one-time setup process.
