Apple Fitness Plus Launches Childbirth-Related Exercises for Pregnant Mothers, Postpartum Parents

Apple Fitness Plus has released a new set of workout routines designed for mothers. The Cupertino giant rolled out these exercises to cater to pregnant women and to mothers who just experienced childbirth.

Apple Fitness exercises include the series called "Get Back to Fitness After Having a Baby." In the program description, Apple says "This program is designed for anyone who has recently had a baby, with workouts that can help you feel stronger and more energetic as you take on the daily demands of parenting."

Apple Fitness Plus Workouts

Apple Fitness aims for inclusive workouts that would help cater to numerous clients with different backgrounds. Fitness and strength in mothers are usually seen in their day-to-day activities which include carrying their babies for long periods of time, balancing different things on both arms, and lifting heavy equipment such as car seats and strollers.

Apple Fitness wants to help mothers prepare for both before and after childbirth using the new series of programs they have launched.

As reported by TechRadar, starting with the Core for "foundational strength," Apple describes a progression of 10-minute workouts that include breathing exercises and gentle movements to prepare and condition the body.

New postpartum workouts will include strength and core exercises, as well as some that target the pelvic floor as part of the program's ongoing evolution.

In addition, core strength, strength training, and Apple's now-famous "Mindful Cooldowns" are all included in the workouts.

This Apple Fitness subscription will be available for $10 monthly. As part of a larger library of exercises, this subscription service that works in conjunction with the Apple Watch already includes workouts specifically designed for pregnant women. In addition to a class collection dedicated to staying active during pregnancy, the Apple exercises workout service also offers a collection of curated exercises for closing those Apple Watch rings once the baby is born.

These are pre-made workouts that mothers can access on their iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, just like the rest of the Fitness+ lineup of programs.

Lastly, the training in the Apple Fitness Plus exercise is led by Betina Gozo who is also a new mom. In addition, Jonelle Lewis, and Marimba Gold-Watts will also be featured as new Apple Fitness trainers who are also mothers themselves. The program is educated by both their personal and professional experiences as mothers and trainers, as well as insights from an OB-GYN physician.

Apple Fitness Exercise

This is not the first time Apple has offered a Fitness+ program that is specifically geared toward pregnant women. Apple released the "Stay Active During Pregnancy" app a year ago this month. There are multiple women's health-focused programs in Apple Fitness.

This includes the Apple Women's Health Study, which was launched in November 2019 by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Apple, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to investigate menstrual cycles and their relationship to a variety of health conditions.

According to CNET, mothers are reminded that it is still encouraged to consult their physician. Although Apple Fitness Plus workouts are designed to be suitable for both people who had a C-section and those who had a vaginal delivery.

The modifications will be tailored to the user's level of activity during pregnancy as well as how mildly or intensely the user wishes to resume their exercise regimen. Furthermore, the exercises are all only 10 minutes long, which may make it easier for you to find the time to complete them.
