HTC One Mini may launch in the UK on Aug. 9

Rumors of HTC One Mini have been doing the rounds very frequently and a recent report suggests that the handset will launch in the UK on Aug. 9.

HTC launched its flagship smartphone, the HTC One, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year. The handset received top honors in "the best new mobile handset, device or tablet" category at the event.

Due to high demand of the handset and supply issues surrounding the components used in its camera, the company had to delay the release of the HTC One in many markets. However, the handset has been welcomed well in the smartphone space with it reaching five million customers within just 30 days of release.

The popularity of the HTC One may have tempted the Taiwanese company to launch a smaller more compact version of the smartphone i.e. the HTC One Mini. HTC has not made the mini version of the handset official but with so many rumors circling in the smartphone arena, the launch of the device seems impending.

"#HTC #OneMini #M4 hits UK stores 9th August 2013," tweeted @ViziLeaks.

Just like the HTC One is currently the nearest competitor of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One Mini should successfully compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.

The HTC One Mini is expected to be positioned as mid- to high-end smartphone but will sport a smaller 4.3-inch 720p HD display. Rumors also suggest that a Qualcomm 1.6GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor is expected to power the handset. The smartphone is expected to have 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.

Just like the original HTC One, the HTC One Mini may also get a 4.3-UltraPixel rear-facing camera, front-facing stereo speakers with Beats audio technology, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The handset is also speculated to have a similar anodized aluminum unibody case like the original HTC One.

The competition in the smartphone space is quiet intense and HTC will have to deploy its best in the HTC One Mini to attract the attention of smartphone buyers. Aug. 9 is not far away, so we will have to wait a little more to see if the HTC One Mini makes its appearance.
