With the release of iOS 10, a new feature known as Switch Control was added to iPads. This enables a user to remotely control the target iPad from another device using that device. It is important to note that both devices must be linked to the same network and have the same Apple ID.

  • Connect the iPad and the device that will be managing it to the same Wi-Fi network and Apple ID account.
  • Now, on your controlling device, head to the Settings menu.
  • Select "Accessibility" from the menu.
  • Then, enable Switch Control.
  • Select Switches from the Switch Control menu page to create a new switch.
  • Select "Add New Switch" from the options.
  • Select a source.
  • Using our switch, head to the Switch Control option and click Device.
  • Click "Use Another Device."
  • Find the iPad that will be used to control it, then press the Connect button.
  • You may now control the iPad from a distance.

These steps will work on any iOS device, including an iPhone, iPod Touch, or another iPad.

How To Control an iPad Using Mac

Downloading the current versions of macOS and iPadOS will allow Apple users to utilize the connectivity of these gadgets. A new feature called "Universal Control" has been enabled in Apple's most recent software update for the Mac and iPad. This feature allows users to share their Mac's mouse and keyboard with their iPad.

Universal Control is not only intended to be used between an iPad and a Mac but also between any two iOS devices. It will also work with numerous Macs if you have more than one.

Controlling your iPad from a Mac will be marginally different from connecting an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to a computer. Below are the steps you can follow:

  • First, check to see that your devices are connected to the same network and that you have signed into iCloud on both gadgets.
  • Second, to ensure switching is enabled on our Mac, go to Apple's Menu, then System Preferences, and Accessibility.
  • After that, select Switch Control from the menu.
  • Then select "Enable Switch Control."
  • After switching has been enabled, visit the Switch Control Home page and click on Devices to begin.
  • Click Connect after selecting the iPad that you want to control from the menu bar.
