Apple Music Is Finally Integrated To Waze— Enjoying the Ride While Listening To Your Favorite Songs

Waze announces their most recent feature, the integration of Apple Music into their software.

This new feature on Waze will now allow drivers and passengers to enjoy music seamlessly while being more focused on the road.

Apple Music compatibility was added to the Google-owned navigation app exactly five years after Waze integrated Spotify in their app.

This new feature that came out today can now allow users to utilize the built-in audio controls in Waze to play, pause, and switch between songs in the Apple Music collection on their iPhone.

Because of this, Apple Music customers may now access all of their preferred content through the in-app music player that is included with Waze.

Apple Music and Waze

For the past few years, the navigation app has collaborated with a variety of audio services in order to provide its users with the finest, safest, and most enjoyable driving experience possible. As of today, Apple Music will now have a seamless integration with Waze, allowing users to keep their eyes on the road while enjoying the trip with Apple Music playing in the background.

Users can now access content from Apple Music directly within the Waze Audio Player as a result of a direct link being established between the two applications. Apple Music users can now easily consume over 90 million songs, tens of thousands of curated playlists, Apple Music Radio, and other features while attempting to navigate the interface.

To use this feature, users just need to update their app, hit the icon that looks like a music note, and then select the audio app to add Apple Music to their device. When Waze asks the device owner to accept the connection, users only need to select it and indicate that they are now prepared to begin listening.

According to Digital Trends, "Waze automatically detects compatible music apps on a user's device and displays the audio player icon (a white music note on a pink circle) on the map."

However, if users cannot see it, users just need to check their settings. Users are advised to go to the menu of My Waze, click Settings, click the Audio Player, and then toggle the Show audio player switch.

Music on Waze

Waze, which is owned by Google, made the announcement through a brief video on Twitter that walked users of the iPhone version of its navigation app through the process of using Apple Music.

Indeed, this new feature eliminates the need for users to browse away from the primary map interface in order to make adjustments to what they are listening to, thereby reducing the likelihood that they may become distracted while driving.

Prior to adding this feature, Apple Music was essentially the only major music streaming service that did not include a connection with Waze. But now that has changed.

In 2021, Waze debuted Audio Player for its mobile app, and since then, the company has been gradually adding more services to the platform.

Over the course of its history, Google has extended support to a huge list of lesser-known services. According to The Verge, these services include Pandora, Deezer, and iHeart Radio. Even prior to the news made today, it was already possible to listen to audiobooks and podcasts thanks to integrations with both Audible and Stitcher.

The collaboration of both companies will surely benefit subscribers of Apple Music who are also avid Waze users.
