Snapchat "Shared Stories," a new feature, is now available. It's a new way for users to improve their online community experience.

The feature is an expansion of the one known as Custom Stories, which already gave users the ability to write their narratives and invite their friends to work together on subsequent posts.

On the other hand, now that the company has shared stories, more people will be able to work together on that story.

Snapchat Shared Stories

Snapchat's Shared Stories, according to the company, are designed to assist Snapchatters in turning shared moments into shared memories.

Shared Stories are an updated version of Snapchat's previous product, Custom Stories, enabling users to compile their narratives and invite others to view and contribute to them. The mechanism behind how the Shared Stories feature operates is a straightforward one.

The new and improved feature is part of Shared Stories and works in a way where users now can choose friends who can expand upon that story by contributing additional photos or videos, and those friends can also invite others to do the same thing.

According to 9to5Mac, Snapchatters could, for instance, invite their friends to participate in the creation of shared stories about a party.

These friends can also add new stories that will appear next to the original story, and if their friends are invited, those friends will also have the option to contribute new stories of their own. In this manner, everyone will have the opportunity to work together to create a memory of that event.

Just like any story on Snapchat, the shared stories will also be deleted from the platform after 24 hours. According to the company, this new feature is developed to be safe by design.

This means the new feature also includes careful moderation of the content, which is performed by employing a combination of automatic language detection and new community review tools.

In addition, Snapchat lets users know if they have joined a shared story with a person that they have blocked. Snapchat users will always have full control over who they share content with and will provide them the option to exit the shared story.

Shared Stories is now officially available on both iOS and Android. If users want access to the newly added features, all they need to do is update their Snapchat accounts with the latest versions.

Snapchat's Latest Updates

Snapchat has been releasing a few new features consecutively. The company recently added Director Mode and announced that it would have more parental controls.

For Snapchat's Director Mode, the app is now equipped with a brand new set of cameras and editing tools that can make Snapchatters' videos look better than ever.

Aside from the game-changing editing tools, according to 9to5Mac, the Director mode also gives creators access to the new Dual Camera feature, which lets them use both the front-facing and back-facing cameras at the same time.

Creators can also record their reactions and a 360-degree view of the scene without special camera tricks or extra apps.

As reported by TechCrunch, Snapchat is finalizing their plans to implement their parental control guidelines on their platform. Through the newly added functionality of the Family Center, parents will now be able to monitor their teens' social interactions within the app.

The Family Center feature will allow parents to see who their teen has been chatting with for the previous week, but they won't be able to see what was said in those conversations.

The screenshots will also equip parents, if necessary, to assist their children in filing reports of bullying and other forms of harassment.
