On the other hand, the massive automaker, General Motors, is going the opposite route, bringing down the cost of the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV.

As per a news story by The Verge, the latest Chevy Bolt EV introduces its new pricing scheme, which flaunts a dramatic 18% decrease from its previous price tag. Whereas the Bolt EUV also got a price cut of 16% when compared to its 2022 counterpart.

The latest pricing of GM's EV offering comes as a surprise to many.

According to a recent report by Tesla North, EV makers are actually expected to inevitably raise prices.

It only suits the current situation, wherein its overall costs from labor to materials have skyrocketed already. Not to mention that the geopolitical climate in Europe is making the markets more volatile nowadays.

So, automakers like Tesla, Ford, and GMC, to name a few, have already jacked up the prices of their vehicles.

Despite all that, GM said in a statement that "affordability has always been a priority" for Bolt.

The spokesperson of the automaker said that the latest price cut attempts to "make sure Bolt EV/EUV are competitive in the marketplace.
