Resident Evil 4 Remake is Official for March 2023: Watch the First Trailer Here

A remake of Resident Evil 4 is set for release in March 2023 that is expected to once more revolutionize the franchise and delight its ever loyal fans.

Resident Evil 4 comes as the ideal middle-ground between the franchise's survival horror origins and the more action-focused transition in 2009's Resident Evil 5 and 2012's Resident Evil 6. Capcom eventually reinvented the wheel again with 2017's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard by making it a first person shooter, a welcome point-of-view change that also carried over into 2021's Resident Evil Village, The Verge reported.

'Resident Evil' Remakes Seem Wearing Thin

All that said, it feels like the Resident Evil remake formula seems to be wearing thin. While the modern Resident Evil 2 arguably breathed new life into a beloved classic, the Resident Evil 3 remake was seen as to have fallen short in its updates to the 23-year-old original.

It can be expected that much of the conversation moving forward to be about whether Resident Evil 4 actually needs to be refurbished, especially considering its legendarily eternal status in gaming lore.

Years after it first revolutionized the survival horror third person shooter franchise, the new remake for the PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, and the PC is set to achieve state-of-the-art gameplay and quality that is ideal for 2023, while keeping the essence of the original game.

The new incarnation seeks to make the title remain identifiable to longtime fans of the series, while likewise incorporating a fresh feeling to it. To achieve this, it reimagines the storyline of the game while maintaining the game's essence, updating the graphics and modernizing the controls to a current standard. It also offers support for the next version of the P}layStation VR.

Exciting, Terrifying Gameplay for VR-enbled 'Resident Evil Village'

In a blog post, developer Capcom revealed that Resident Evil Village is also under development for PSVR2, and with the details the company revealed, gmeplay seems both exciting and terrifying. Using the PSVR2 headset and the the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, guarding using both of your arms and Ethan (Winters) will guard in the same way; hold up a gun and Ethan will hold up his.

Players are likewise now able to do such dynamic actions sas firing your gun while holding a knife with the other hand, or holding a handgun with one hand and a shotgun with the other. These advanced controllers increase the player's immersion with the game, Capcom further said.

Other remakes of Resident Evil were released in recent years, such as Resident Evil 2 in 2019 and Resident Evil 3 in 2020.

In the game's narrative, it's been six years since the biological disaster in Racoon City.

Survivor Leon S. Kennedy, was recruited as an agent to report directly to the president.

Experienced in multiple past missions, Leon is assigned to rescue the U.S. president's kidnapped daughter.

He finds her in a secluded European village, but discovers there is something terribly wrong with the villagers.

And here begins the story of exhilarating survival horror and rescue.
