Rogers Moto X arrives at select locations in 'limited quantities'

Canadian carrier Rogers has reportedly begun stocking the latest Moto X from select locations, but in limited quantities.

A Mobile Syrup report claims the publication received an internal Rogers document which confirms the release of the Moto X.

"The Moto X has begun to ship to select Rogers locations in limited quantities. If an existing customer is unable to locate a device, please direct them to log into the Rogers Reservation System to reserve a device and it will be delivered to the Rogers location of their choosing when it's available. New customers can register for updates at www.rogers.com/motox. They'll receive an email as soon as devices become available nationwide," read the leaked Rogers internal document as cited by Mobile Syrup.

In Canada, the Moto X is exclusive to Rogers. The handset has been one of the most hotly-anticipated Android smartphones of this year. One of the key reasons that customers may be attracted to the Moto X is that the handset is highly customizable. Customers can personalize their Moto X by choosing from 22 phone backs (four of which are made of actual wood), seven accent colors, a white or black face plate, a white or black wall charger and 16 or 32GB of memory.

The Moto X packs in top-end features such as a 4.7-inch display, a powerful 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing one.

The presence of other top-end smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Nokia Lumia handsets, Sony Xperia Z and others will definitely make competition tougher for the Moto X. Additionally, the next-generation iPhone 5S is also expected to launch on Sept. 10 which may attract a large number of smartphone enthusiasts to buy the handset.

Rogers will offer the Moto X at a price tag of $189.99 on a two-year contract or $549.99 outright.

If you are interested in buying the Moto X in Canada then you can reserve the handset via the Rogers Reservation System, or call your local store. If rumors are true then Canadian customers will be the first in the world to lay hands on the Moto X.
