Modder Chris Rubino Creates a New Mod Featuring Garfield

Modder Chris Rubino created a new mod that replaces the orange cat in Stray with a "surprisingly believable rendition" of Garfield, as per IGN.

Rubino got everything right from the lazy expression to the chubby cheeks. Its the good old Garfield exploring around a robot city.

Garfield is the famous orange kitty that made its debut in 1978 in Jim Davis' comic strip. Ever since, he rose to stardom as he starred in numerous TV specials.

Garfield even had two feature films plus a couple of video games. He became so popular that he was honored with Garfield Minus Garfield. It was a project where the cat was erased from its own strip by creator Dan Walsh, as per CNET.

Thus, what could be more interesting than orange kitty meeting orange kitty in a game widely enjoyed by many. The game is now available for download.

The Garfield in Stray Mod isn't the only available mod for the game. Another mod replaces the game's orange kitty with the human character. CJ from the game Grand Theft Auto is also playable from a mod version of the game.

There's another mod that allows players to change the color of the Stray kitty to gray. According to the creator, it was done in order to make the cat look like their own dearly departed pet.

'Stray's' Main Orange Kitty is Actually Voiced Out by a Cat

In the game Stray, a cat escapes from "a strange dystopian cyberpunk world," as per iTech Post. The world in the game is full of droids and other dangerous creatures.

The cat wanders in the dystopian world with the aim to be reunited with its family from which it got separated.

The game's Steam page stated that in order to escape, the cat has to be "stealthy, nimble, silly, and even annoying," according to iTech Post.

While voiced actors are typically humans, Stray is quite different as the orange kitty is voiced by no other than Lala, the cat who renders its meows, purrs, snuffles and growls to the main character of the game.

Musician and Twitter user JANKENPOPP introduced Lala a few days after the game was released.

Lala is far from the game's orange kitty. While the main cat character has orange fur, green eyes, and a round face, you will find that Lala has gray fur, yellow eyes, plus a sharp face.

Lala render's its voice to the various cat in the game. If you happen to listen to the main cat meows several times, it is actually Lala doing its many meows for the game.

The voice acting of Lala sounds so authentic that cats of gamers get engrossed on the game while their owners are playing Stray.
