The Apple App Store will begin to display more ads.

Apple recently announced that they are giving developers more opportunity to promote their apps on the Apple App Store by making the Today tab and individual app pages available for advertisements.

Opening more pages of the App Store will give more visibility and exposure that will make it easier to discover new apps for the users.

According to The Verge, the company is increasing the number of advertising opportunities available within the App Store as part of its efforts to ensure that the App Store remains the ideal location for developers to expand their businesses.

Apple stated, "Like our other advertising offerings, these new ad placements are built upon the same foundation-they will only contain content from apps' approved App Store product pages, and will adhere to the same rigorous privacy standards."

Apple App Store Ads

The Apple App Store is adding more ads in various ways. The Today tab, which is the home page of the App Store, will be the location of the first brand-new advertising opportunity.

Developers will be able to promote their apps directly alongside the daily editorial content that is produced by the team responsible for the App Store.

Advertisements are easily identifiable as such and can be differentiated from the typical editorial content that is found in the App Store.

Another location for the ads for developers will be located directly in the product pages of the apps. Advertisements will be displayed in the space designated for "You Might Also Like" near the page's footer, and they will be easily identifiable as paid placements.

In the same way that ads are highlighted in blue in the App Store search, they will be highlighted in blue on app pages to differentiate them from other recommendations.

The buyers of these advertisements won't have the ability to target particular applications with them, but the ads themselves will be pertinent to the apps that they appear under.
