Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5C on September 10. The smartphone will come in multiple colors and the first image of the black iPhone 5C has leaked.
Unlike previous years, Apple will not only launch its next flagship smartphone with the iPhone 5S, but the company will also announce a second model with the iPhone 5C. We have seen multiple leaks of the iPhone 5C's brightly-colored plastic case and iPhone fans will be happy to know that Apple will also offer the smartphone in a more conservative and traditional black case. The first image of the black iPhone 5C has leaked.
The iPhone 5C will reportedly replace the iPhone 5, but use most of its internals, including its 4-inch Retina Display wrapped in a plastic shell to make it more affordable. Up until now we have seen the iPhone 5C leak in several bright colors, including white, green, yellow, blue and pink. New images of the black iPhone 5C have appeared online for the first time in a black version. The images show the smartphone alongside the iPhone 5 and they match up to previously leaked images, showing that the new handset will be an all-plastic affair and will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 5 and 5S. The smartphone is expected to be priced significantly lower than the iPhone 5S and will allow Apple to offer consumers a more affordable iPhone whilealso better competing with mid-range Android smartphones and increasing its overall smartphone market share.
It is believed that Apple will announce that both the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will go on sale on September 20, just ten days after the official announcement. The expected launch date lines up with previous iPhone launches. The company typically launches its new iPhones about a week and a half after its announcement and always on a Friday. If the current rumored September 10 iPhone event date is real, September 20 will most likely be the date we can expect the smartphones to officially go on sale.
Apple will not only be adding multiple color choices for the iPhone 5C, but will also offer a new champagne/gold iPhone 5S color choice along with the usual black and white models.
As always, we'll have to wait for Apple to make all of this official and thankfully we don't have much longer to wait.
