Nokia's much-awaited Amber update is set to make its way to all Lumia devices by end September; however, not all features will be available to all devices.

The Amber update is slated to bring a slew of new features and improvements Lumia owners' way, but now reports suggest that some features such as the Double Tap to unlock will not be available for a few smartphones. 

Moreover, as previously announced, the Lumia 620 will not be the only one skipping the FM radio feature (because of unsupportable hardware). As it turns out, it will have company in the Lumia 810 and the Lumia 928, which also do not have the "necessary hardware."

Nokia's Amber update builds on Microsoft's GDR2 update and is slated to bring several new features and improvements. The update was initially scheduled to release in July and brings several Nokia-specific app additions, including the Smart Camera app found on the Lumia 925. Post the update, the Lumia 920, Lumia 925 and Lumia 928 will all get Nokia's Pro Camera app which is found on the Lumia 1020. This nifty app lets users adjust shutter speed and exposure settings.

The latest information is genuine as it comes from a Nokia Community Manager who posted the information on the Finnish company's Community Forum.

"FM Radio is not available in Lumia 620, 810 and 928 as these models do not have all of the necessary hardware," posted the Community Manager.

He also let on that the other new features missing on some Lumia devices, post the Amber update, include the Double-tap to awaken, which is "not available on Lumia 520, 521, 620 or 720."

Here's a look at which Lumia devices will miss the following features in the upcoming Nokia Amber update.

Double Tap to unlock missing for:

- Lumia 520

- Lumia 521

- Lumia 620

- Lumia 720

This means that the new feature will be available only for the  Lumia 521, Lumia 810, Lumia 820, Lumia 920, Lumia 925 and Lumia 928.

FM Radio support missing for:

- Lumia 620

- Lumia 810

- Lumia 928

This means that the new FM Radio feature will be available only for the Lumia 520, Lumia 521, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, Lumia 920 and Lumia 925.

It seems that the Lumia 620 will be the worst hit of all the Nokia WP8 smartphones as it will not benefit from any of the much-touted new features the Amber update is set to bring.
