Microsoft unveiled its newest Xbox Game Pass family subscription plan.

iTechPost previously reported on Microsoft's latest plan to include friends in its Xbox Game Pass subscription.

There was speculation and rumors about Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family in the previous days, but now it has officially been confirmed.

The tech giant confirmed that a new Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family subscription plan is in the works. However, as of the moment, the launch of this plan will only be available in Colombia and Ireland as they are still in the testing phase of the planned worldwide release.

Microsoft's Newest Subscription Plan

Microsoft finally launched the long-awaited and rumored plan called the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family. This new subscription will allow Game Pass to invite not just family members but also friends to the newest plan, which will save them a few dollars in pricing difference.

According to Xbox, they will offer two types of Friends & Family plan members. First, the primary member will have the only authority to add members to the group account. The primary account holder will also be the one assigned to make payments.

The second one is the group members, that can only be added and removed by the primary member.

Primary account holders can subscribe to this plan in Microsoft's digital store and join Friends & Family. After joining, the account holders can go to the Services & subscriptions page to manage their members and can add as many people as they like.

Microsoft's Xbox Testing in Ireland and Colombia

Microsoft will price this new Xbox subscription at 49,900 COP monthly in Colombia and 21.99 euros in the Republic of Ireland.

The Xbox Game Pass Family plan can accommodate adding up to more than four members, whether friends or family, as long as they live in the same country as the account holder.

Primary account holders cannot add members that are located in different countries with them, despite being family members or close friends.

If a member of the group moves to a different country and their new home country does not match the one that the primary account holder has, the member will be kicked out of the group.

Although specific pricing information for the rest of Europe, the United Kingdom, or the United States hasn't been revealed, it can be assumed to be $10 more than the existing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan, which costs $14.99 per month.

Switching To Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family

According to IGN, when users change plans, Microsoft will convert their accounts to the Friends & Family plan and adjust the remaining time on their old one. Here is the formula:

• 18 days of Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family are included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a total of 30 days.

• 30 days of the console version of Xbox Game Pass is equivalent to 12 days of the Friends & Family version.

• 30 days of access to the PC Game Pass is equivalent to 12 days of access to the Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family.

• 12 days of Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family are included in your purchase of 30 days of Xbox Live Gold.

• EA Play memberships are equivalent to six days of Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family.
