PUBG: Battlegrounds, McLaren Collaborate to Bring New Cars to the Game

PUBG Battle players can now ride around the game's many maps in style.

PUBG developer KRAFTON has recently announced it has collaborated with British supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive to bring its cars into the game through obtainable vehicle skins.

Players of the game can start trying to obtain the McLaren skins next week.

KRAFTON mentioned in its announcement it had partnered with McLaren to give players the opportunity to drive some of McLaren's popular vehicles in-game in a limited-time event.

The developer mentioned that from Sept. 7 through Nov. 2, PUBG players can obtain a " McLaren GT Standard - Onyx Black" vehicle skin, costume, gear, emote, and more through in-game McLaren Loot Caches.

McLaren Loot Caches can be obtained by purchasing them in-game during the event's duration.

Additionally, players can outfit the Coupe RB vehicle with McLaren skins. They can also equip the special McLaren skins to the vehicle through the new vehicle interaction feature. These skins will purely be cosmetic, and as such, they will not affect the performance and specs of the vehicle.

To apply the skins, players have to press the secondary interaction key in front of the vehicle.

Aside from event-exclusive skins, players can also craft McLaren skins, specifically the "McLaren GT Standard - Silica White" and "McLaren GT Elite - Volcano Yellow" vehicle skins in their Workshop using McLaren tokens acquired from McLaren Loot Caches and the McLaren Crafter Pass.

The Crafter Pass, like with the McLaren Loot Caches, can be obtained by buying them in-game. Unfortunately, PUBG players living in the Netherlands and Belgium will be unable to purchase the pass.

Furthermore, players can further customize their McLaren vehicles with exclusive McLaren customizable items to suit their style. These items, which can be craftable in-game, include exterior vehicle colors, brake calipers, and even wheels.

Customized cars will be displayed in the custom lobby.

Skins and customizations aside, players who have a McLaren vehicle skin and their teammates can interact with a McLaren container car found in each starting point of Erangel, Miramar, Taeg, Sanhok, Vikendi, and Deston.

These container cars have a McLaren vehicle inside, which can be ridden by the player and/or their teammates.

However, these McLaren containers and vehicles will be removed once the match starts.

KRAFTON also mentioned that PUBG Battlegrounds' 19.2 Update will be available on Sept. 7 for PC players and Sept. 15 for those on game consoles.

According to Gamespot, this update will bring a Not-So-Friendly Neighborhood Food Truck in Dreston that players can drive. This vehicle can fit up to four passengers and has a large, vertical open window on one side to do drive-by shootouts with.

The game will also feature a new weather system in Dreston that delivers a more realistic lighting/weather state during a match. Although there is no full day-to-night cycle, it does feature a short progression cycle that doesn't drastically change the sun's angle.

Update 19.2 also provides players with the new Heavy Stock attachment for their main gun for less recoil in exchange for slower ADS timing. Meanwhile, new animations will be added to the game to make it run more smoothly than before.
