A Leak Suggests Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 May Have a Remaster

A leaker said that Activision had likely finished Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's revamped campaign and is now only waiting to be launched.

Is There Really a Remastered Version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3?

According to Comic Book, a well-known leaker said that a remaster for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may soon happen. This is in addition to several reports in relation to the game and its franchise.

According to a statement provided by a representative from Activision to CharlieIntel, the game's developer asserts that there is no such thing as a remastered version of Modern Warfare 3.

However, Up Comer reported that a leaker known as TheGhostOfHope on Twitter said that Activision had completed a remastered campaign for the game and, thus, is just waiting for a release period.

A source for the leaker supports that the remaster is complete, but believing this source is up to the players. Nevertheless, they should take note that Activision has sometimes lied to keep secrets hidden.

Gaming and entertainment behemoth Call of Duty's Modern Warfare helped propel the company into cultural hegemony 20 years ago. In 2007, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare became popular because of its contemporary setting, inventive gameplay, superb multiplayer, and compelling story.

In addition, during the Xbox 360 era, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 became far more well-known and set a key milestone. The trilogy's conclusion and subsequent relaunch in 2019 heralded the series' completeness, which turned out to be the most significant development.

Activision may have rushed the game's debut in the aftermath of the pandemic to give customers something else to play at home.

Since there are no sources that back up this leak, fans should take it with a more significant dose of caution than usual. Activision could be delaying the release of the upgraded Modern Warfare 3 campaign until the right time.

Xbox Confirmed That PlayStation Will Keep Call of Duty After Microsoft Purchases Activision

Once the actual purchase of Microsoft to Activision takes place, Call of Duty will still be available on PlayStation, according to Comic Books (via iTechPost).

Many people were worried that Call of Duty might become an exclusive game for the Xbox platform once the purchase news broke. However, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox at Microsoft, reportedly confirmed that they would retain Call of Duty in a blog post, as reported by PlayStation Universe.

Spencer also said that with Xbox's ongoing support, people would be able to play with one another on different platforms and gadgets. They used this technique in Minecraft, which is still playable on a number of devices and has been expanded to even more after Mojang joined Microsoft in 2014.

Others believed that despite the assurance that Microsoft will keep PlayStation's present Call of Duty marketing links and business agreements, it could not entirely void the prospect of Call of Duty being an Xbox exclusive soon.

Spencer made it quite clear that fans of the PlayStation platform won't be ignored when it comes to the development of future Call of Duty games.
