Must Try: Top 5 Amazing Features on iPhone Settings You Didn't Know Existed

Apple's iPhone devices have evolved to be one of the most helpful and up-to-date gadgets in the industry out there. The company has grown its brand and its user base.

Through the years, the company has designed numerous features that help users in their everyday life.

One of the greatest appeals of the iPhone is its simplicity. It has been designed over the years for users to easily identify which is which and where it is located.

On the exterior of the iPhone, by just browsing the device, it may seem pretty simple to use. However, hidden and tucked away in the iPhone settings are usually a plethora of features you did not know your iPhone has.

With that, here is the list of five features on your iPhone settings that you need to try.

Placing Time Limits on Apps

Millennials and Gen Zs probably know about this by now, but for some of you who still do not, iOS now lets users set a time limit on their most-used apps.

Being addicted to your mobile phone can be detrimental to your productivity in the long run. Spending a lot of your time on certain mobile apps is not a rare occurrence nowadays.

We have heard of multiple users who struggle with limiting their screen time. The screen time addiction for some of you might have even increased due to the previous lockdowns.

Apple knows about this and has designed a solution to help its users. This feature on your iPhone Settings can be tried out by the following steps:

  • Launch your iPhone Settings app

  • Find Screen Time

  • Select Limits

  • Then Press Add Limit

  • Next thing you want to do is pick the category you want

  • Click on the app or game you want to limit.

  • After choosing, press Next.

  • You can then choose the time limit that you think works best for you.

  • When you are finished, click Add.

Stop App's Ability To Track Precise Location

Apple has rolled out consistent updates to assure the privacy of the iOS. Another feature on your iPhone Setting you probably did not know is a feature that Apple rolled out a feature called Precise Location.

Apple designed the feature to provide more accuracy for apps to locate you and, at the same time, protect your privacy.

Doordash, Postmates, Uber, Lyft, Google Maps, and Waze are all examples of apps that require your precise location in order to deliver food to the correct location or direct you to the place you want to go. However, not all apps require constant and precise location information from you at all times.

You can easily disable the use of your precise location by apps on your iPhone by going into the settings of your device and selecting the corresponding option.

Fode Mode

Focus Mode is a feature you can enable in your iPhone Settings. This mode is definitely helpful to students, working professionals, and or any user who does not want to get disturbed.

Focus is a feature that allows you to concentrate on a task more easily by reducing the number of interruptions you receive. This feature can momentarily silence all notifications, which is helpful if you need to concentrate on something else or step away from your iPhone.

However, a great feature is that you can also customize it to allow certain apps or communication to reach you, and you can configure this in the iPhone settings.

You can create different Focus modes at different times of the day depending on your liking. You can also schedule in advance the times that you want your phone to go on Focus mode. This feature functions similarly just like the Do Not Disturb.

Add Full Notification on Your Lockscreen

Apple has always been big about user data, security, and privacy. With the most recent iOS, this brings about a feature for iPhone users.

According to CNET, iPhones that are equipped with Apple's Face ID technology will, by default, conceal the contents of an alert until you pick up your phone and unlock it. This behavior is standard for all iPhone models.

When you use Apple's Face ID technology for the very first time, you will notice that you are unable to view the contents of any notification that appears on the lock screen.

This privacy feature makes a lot of sense, especially to those people who are doing business or who have children or just ordinary individuals that do not like other people snooping on their notifications.

On the other hand, this feature can also come as an annoyance to some. Instead of providing direct ease to users, some of you are irritated by the fact that you need to open your device to know how important the notification is.

You can change it in your iPhone Settings. You can customize your notification on your lock screen by going to the Settings, select Notifications, then find Show Previews, and select Always.

Downtime Feature To Avoid Distractions

The iPhone now has a Downtime feature that would be perfect for any user who is looking to maximize their productivity by blocking possible distractions that affect their focus.

When you use the downtime feature, you will be able to choose a block of time you want. However, when the feature is already on, users will only be able to receive notifications or access applications that they are permitted to run during those selected periods of time.

According to MUO, this feature on your iPhone settings can also run by default by creating a scheduled downtime ahead of time. You will receive a reminder five minutes before the start of Downtime, and it will apply to all of the devices for which Screen Time is enabled.

  • Launch your iPhone Settings.

  • Select Screen Time.

  • Find Downtime, and click it.

  • Then click Turn On Downtime Until Tomorrow.

You can also customize the schedule that you want your Downtime feature to occur.
