Nokia Lumia 920 on offer for just a penny

If you are looking to buy a new Lumia 920, you can now get the handset for just a penny on a two-year contract.

Nokia released the Lumia 920 in Nov. 2012 and the handset started gaining a lot of popularity in the smartphone space. The Windows Phone 8 (WP8)-powered handset is exclusively available in the U.S. via AT&T.

The top-end Lumia 920 has attracted many customers looking to experience Microsoft's latest operating system and now Nokia has released a number of new WP8 handsets on various carriers in the U.S.

The company launched the Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928 back to back in May this year. Nokia also launched the Lumia 1020 as an exclusive to AT&T. Even though new top-end Nokia handsets have made way to the market, the Lumia 920 is still quite popular in the smartphone community.

Currently, AT&T is selling the Lumia 920 at a price of $49.99 on a new two-year contract. The handset is available in Matte Black, High Gloss Red, Matte Cyan and High Gloss Yellow color options form the carrier. Amazon, however, is now selling the Matte Black, Matte Yellow and the High Gloss Red versions of the handset for just $0.01. The High Gloss Cyan model is currently unavailable from the retailer.

The promotional offer is available only on a new two-year contract and you have to splash $49.99 if you are eligible for an upgrade.

The Lumia 925 and the Lumia 928 are definitely a step up from the Lumia 920. However, both the latest handsets are just a minor update to the Lumia 920. The Lumia 920 is still an attractive WP8 handset with top-end features in its category.

The smartphone sports a 4.5-inch screen with 1280 x 768 resolution and a pixel density of 332 pixels per inch (ppi). The Lumia 920 also features an 8.7-megapixel primary camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The device includes a 2,000mAh battery, and a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the handset.
