Twitch has revealed its newest experimental feature to rival strikingly similar YouTube Superchat, but it comes with quite a price.
To allow its viewers to have their messages on top of the hectic chat, this new monetization feature had been launched by Twitch in its testing stage, writes Dexerto.

Twitch Unveils Elevated Chat Feature
Elevated Chat a feature that allows moderators and users to pin their messages for visibility, has been made available to select streamers after its announcement earlier this year, according to Dot Esports.
Initially, the pinned chat tool is expected to help streamers manage spamming in their chat channels by simply typing the "/pin" command followed by the message they want to highlight. However, this version made pinning chat easier.
According to Deluxe, hovering over a message will now give users the option to pin it by adding a "Pin" button beside the "Reply" icon, and viewers will also be able to extend or collapse the message at their own discretion.
To unpin the message, the channel moderators and streamers can simply click the "Pin" button, or the "Options" button beside the text.
Lastly, the Elevated Chats will be controlled by streamers and moderators should a viewer need banning or timeout for using the feature for reasons aside their intended purpose, Dexerto reports.
Elevated Chats May Cost A Fortune
Almost similar to YouTube's Superchat which requires a payment of $100 to highlight a message for an hour, the implementation of Elevated Chats will need to be paid for, according to Engadget.
To pin a message for 30 seconds, a payment of $5 will be required, while $10 will allow messages to appear pinned for a whole minute, and $25 for a minute and a half. Connectedly, for a message to appear pinned for two minutes and a half, a payment of $50 should be made.
The price to pin messages goes up depending on the length of time the users would want their chats to be pinned on top, and the feature will give the Twitch creators a 70/30 payment split for the feature as reported by Dexerto.
Twitch, on their support page, confirmed that viewers can enter a queue if more people want to avail the Elevated Chats feature at the same time to see their message above the chat box and below the video livestream.
Although Twitch has not specified why there is need for the Elevated Chats feature during its testing stages, Gamepur states that pinning a chat may be excellent in cases where streamers do not want to miss a good advice or joke.
The creators can also use the feature to pin chat rules and donation links for charity if they want to ensure that viewers can see them.
According to Twitch support, the testing will last for four weeks, and will only be available in select locations until the platform has sufficient data to decide whether it will be rolled out officially, says Engadget.
