Microsoft Surface Pro 9, Surface Laptop 5 Specs Leak Online

A new leak has revealed Microsoft's plans for the Surface laptops ahead of its October Surface launch event.

A few days away from the Microsoft Surface event on October 12, Tom's Guide reported a leak that hinted at spec improvements for Surface Pro 9 and Surface 5.

Initial Rumors About Surface Laptops Make Rounds Online

The new details about the Surface Pro 9 and Surface 5 laptops have been leaked, and details reveal that they will come with Intel 12th-gen chips according to Windows Central

The information leaked provided that the Surface series laptops will be equipped with Intel Alder Lake-U series processors instead of AMD Ryzen APUs.

According to Tom's Guide, the leak reveals that the Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Pro 9 will use identical processors, and mentions 8 GB and 16 GB RAM availability for its consumer models.

However, the display resolution will allegedly follow that of the new versions' predecessors, and may even come in the same size.

Additionally, Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 will be running on Windows 11.

What Is There To Expect Next From Microsoft

Windows Central provided a list that runs down most of the specs and features of the new Surface laptop models based on the circulating rumors.

Surface Pro 9 will reportedly have an Intel Iris Xe or Ardreno to run graphics in a 13-inch 3:2 aspect ratio with up to 120Hz in display.

Pro 9 will also accommodate two Thunderbolt 4s, Surface Connect, and a 3.5mm audio, besides its dual 2W stereo speakers and far-field studio mics via Dolby Atmos in system.

It will feature an IR camera front-facing 5MP at 1080p and a rear-facing 10MP at up to 4K resolution, as well as a Precision Touchpad and Surface Slim Pen 2 to help its keyboard.

Surface 9 Pro will also have 5G configuration capabilities, and will be available in Platinum, Matte Black, Sapphire, and Forest with Red and Orange on their way too.

Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop 5 13" and 15" will both run on 3:2 aspect ratio at 120Hz and Intel Iris Xe Graphics, and a WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.

Their ports will support two USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, a single USB-, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a port for Surface Connect.

They will be available with quad omnisonic speakers via Dolby Atmos, and in colors such as Platinum and Black.

PC World writes that although Microsoft has opted to keep mum on the leak, it is believed that the tenth anniversary promotion of the Surface Laptop series will not be that unusual anyway.

Microsoft is expecting to fully unveil these laptops on October 12 with a number of accessories, anticipated updates, and potential surprises, according to PC World.

Along with the launch of Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5, a large-monitored system for creatives called the Surface Studio 2 has also been rumored to come out next week.
