iPadOS 16 Gets Released on Monday; You Need the Newest iPad to Get Every Feature

The wait is over: iPadOS 16 will be released on Monday, Oct. 24. It is free, but you need to have the newest iPad to get every feature of the upgrade.

Admittedly, the iPad is on a different level by itself. It is by far a powerful device with very flexible hardware.

This major upgrade was announced four months ago during Apple's WWDC 22. Now, Apple is ready to roll out the upgrade to users worldwide.

4 Blockbuster Features

Apple iPadOS 16 brings at least four super features to transform your mobile device, namely:

  1. Stage Manager Just like the one in the real world, this feature allows you to multitask on screen. Stage Manager transforms your iPad into a laptop, allowing you to work on overlapping windows of various sizes in one plain view. It will be a lot easier for you to switch windows on the iPad with the one you are working on with a display at the center. The other open windows or apps are placed on the left side and arranged according to what was the most recent. If you are using premium tablets such as iPad Air or iPad Pro, you can unlock the full external display support with high resolutions at 6K, bringing the display to life. Or turn your iPad into a mini desktop PC by using a USB-C cable, enabling you to arrange your ideal workspace and the freedom to work with several apps, say four apps on the external display and four also on the iPad.
  2. Messaging App. It is like no other app so far. In the Messaging App, you can have the opportunity to edit or delete a message even after it was sent.
  3. Mail. A mail upgrade has been included in this swathes of new features. While sending email on your iPad, you can cancel the delivery of your messages before it reaches their destination - your recipient. This upgrade will also give you control over your message, either to send it now or some other time later. The Remind Later option allows you to receive a notification if you forgot to include an important part of the message, such as the recipient or attachment.
  4. Weather App. The iPadOS 16 brings updates to Apple's Weather app, which is the first for iPad users. The app comes with loads of information, namely: UV index, temperature, time of sunrise or sunset, and weather forecasts on an hourly basis.

A lot more exciting features for your iPad. It includes improved dictation, notes, and accessibility features. Another feature that comes to your iPad is Freeform, a new collaboration app that packs a lot of power.

To enjoy these power-pack updates, you need to have the latest iPad. If you don't have one yet, you have to buy the latest such as iPad Pro or iPad Air, operating on Apple's M1 and M2 chips. These features won't work on A-series processors.

Like other best upgrades, iPadOS 16 has its share of compromises.

Macs without these M1 and M2 chips will miss out on these power-pack upgrades.
