Apple to Launch New MacBook Pro And Mac Mini, Ramping Up Tests

Apple has many plans for the next few months. It includes launching new MacBook Pro, Mac Pro models, and Mac Mini.

MacRumors, citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, said the lab of Cupertino tech company waxes hot for the first Apple silicon Mac Pro. The company appears to be dead set on rolling out the new product soon as it is ramping up the test of the device in the lab.

Mac Pro

Mac Pro, the high-end Mac desktop, will be powered by Apple silicon chip options up to four times the power of M2 Max, better known for its popular names, "M2 Ultra" and "M2 Extreme."

Quoting Gurman in his "Power On" newsletter, MacRumors said the Mac Pro would be rolled out with either 24 or 48 CPU cores, graphic cores of 76 and 152, and memory of 256GB.

Specifically, one configuration of Mac Pro that is up for active testing is a model with 24 CPU cores, 76 graphic cores, and memory of 192GB.

The high-end desktop is reportedly operating macOS Ventura 13.3.

MacBook Pro

As reported, the MacBook Pro models will come in 14- and 16-inch sizes. It will have M2 Max, and M2 Pro configurations, with the former said to have 12 CPU cores and 38 CPU cores. The memory will remain at up to 64GB.

Gurman expects the M2 Max to be available on both display size models, MacRumors reports.

Mac Mini

Apple has reportedly tested an M2 Pro chip in the next-generation Mac mini. So it is expected to share the same M2 chip as the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro.

While reports have indicated that Apple is considering an increased core count for the Mac mini, it is not yet certain if the company will continue with that model.

Launching

The Cupertino tech company may decide to debut the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini before the year ends.

It would not be the same for the next-gen Mac Pro, however, when it comes to launching. All indications are pointing to the direction of the 2023 launching.

Apple Insider offered an explanation of why a 2023 launch for Mac Pro.

Fresh from iPad and iPhone launches, all eyes are on the impending Mac updates. There are reports claiming many things are still going on for the Mac Pro refresh. The most Apple can do right now is to set the launch in 2023.

One thing is certain, though, Apple Insider believes. At least one product will see the light next year instead of 2022.

Giant Leap For a Tiny Chip

Apple said the M1 chip could bring your most versatile, do-it-all Mac mini into a different dimension. It has a CPU speed of three times faster and six times faster graphics.

The chip on Apple Mac is the company's first designed exclusively for Mac. Its 16 billion transistors integrate the CPU, GPU, I/O, Neural Engine, and more in one tiny chip.

Apple said its M1 is not the next step for Mac because it is entirely a different level.

The same thing can also be said of the M2 chip, the Apple silicon next-gen chip that followed the steps of M1. Both are tiny but pack tremendous power and open up new opportunities.

It is a giant leap for a tiny chip, the company said.
