Weather On The Way iOS App Gets CarPlay Support

Roadtrip navigation will now become easier, safer, and more convenient, as the Weather on the Way app for iOS gains support from CarPlay.

The app that combines navigation and weather brings CarPlay support with its new update, which will display live weather radar and navigation on vehicles.

Weather On The Way Gives Drivers Weather Forecasts Along The Way

Weather on the Way is an application that shows users what weather to expect when they travel, free to download on iPhones and iPads with at least an iOS 13.

With its 1.7.2 version, this application provides valuable CarPlay support that brings in-vehicle live radar, live forecast along the way, route directions, and National Weather Service alerts.

According to 9to5 Mac, the Weather on the Way app is an amazing road trip guide free to download from the App Store, with CarPlay support in the Pro version.

This means that it will only run for free during the users' first five trips, but it will eventually require a payment of $5 a month or $25 a year, or a lifetime purchase for $85.

At the moment, the Weather on the Way iOS app with CarPlay support is available globally, with weather alerts enabled in the USA, Canada, Iceland, Israel, and the European Union.

We have made sure to respect Apple's strict CarPlay app guidelines, allowing us to be the first app to be able to offer the radar view on the car's infotainment screen," developer Piotr Knapczyk says.

Weather Apps Are Getting Revamped For iOS Users Including The Native Weather App

Aside from the integration of the CarPlay support to the Weather on the Way App, Apple is also looking to improve its native Weather app.

With the launch of iOS 16.2 beta, the company is adding Apple News for regional weather stories, 9to5 Mac reports.

This means that users can now see local stories about severe weather conditions like hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, and blizzards within their areas.

Additionally, a section in the app has also been dedicated to seeing a 10-day weather forecast and air quality readings for weather news.

Much like the update for Weather on the Way, the native Weather app update is only available in specific areas and locations.

Furthermore, the current beta version does not let users customize what is presented on the Weather App, and there is also no way to disable the News integration.

According to Phone Arena, despite the plethora of Weather apps available on the App Store, the native Weather app is still what most users use and decide to keep.

With the updates on the native Weather app and on the Weather on the Way, there is no room left for users to not know the weather condition in the places while and before they travel to them.

The Weather on the Way iOS app's new CarPlay support is definitely a valuable improvement to the app, especially for those who are always on the go, may it be for work or for a vacation.
