YouTube Reveals the Top Videos and Creators of 2022 — Who Takes First Place?

YouTube has named the best of the best in the US for 2022.

The popular video-sharing platform recently revealed the top videos and content creators in the US for 2022.

YouTube divided these videos and content creators using several categories that reflect their nature the most.

YouTube 2022 Trending US Videos

YouTube mentioned in a blog post that the most trending videos in the US were viewed more than 650 million times over 55 million hours, with them surpassing 2021's top trending videos.

The platform noted that the channels that created these videos have more than 225 million subscribers in total - a notable achievement, indeed.

The most trending videos in the US are:

  1. Technoblade - so long nerds
  2. Guardian News - Watch the uncensored moment Will Smith smacks Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars, drops F-bomb
  3. Dream - hi, I'm Dream.
  4. NFL - Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar & 50 Cent FULL Pepsi SB LVI Halftime Show
  5. MrBeast - I Built Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory!

You can see how much Technoblade's fans value him with his farewell message, which his father recorded, reaching first place. Will Smith's infamous Oscars slap reached second due to how unbelievable it was. Meanwhile, Dream's much-awaited face reveal being on the list shouldn't be a surprise for some, with the video getting 47 million views in almost two months as of press time.

As for the platform's fun-size feel-good package, its top shorts are:

It seems many people were fascinated with seeing a diver cracking a chicken egg at 45 feet underwater, with the short reaching 250 million views in ten months, while Hingaflips' "Sarah Trust Challenges" short got 137 million views in seven months.

Brodie's grooming also got millions of views, with the short featuring his grooming sessions acquiring 105 million views in seven months.

YouTube also celebrates the top songs frequently played in the US throughout the whole of 2022. These songs are:

  1. Encanto Cast - We Don't Talk About Bruno
  2. Kodak Black - Super Gremlin
  3. Jessica Darrow - Surface Pressure
  4. Bad Bunny - Tití me preguntó
  5. Future - WAIT FOR U ft. Drake, Tems

It seems people can't stop listening/watching "Encanto's" "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Surface Pressure" songs on DisneyMusicEVO, while Kodak Black's official music video for "Super Gremlin" found its audience after being released in 2021.

YouTube 2022 US Top Content Creators

YouTube revealed that MrBeast, the same YouTuber that surpassed PewDiePie as the most-followed content creator on the platform, remains in first place as the top YouTube creator in a three-peat. Following him, content creators NichLmao, with 18.8 million subscribers, and Airrack, with 10.7 million subs, took second and third place, respectively, while Ryan Trahan took fourth place.

Isaiah Photo, known for challenging himself to do some hardcore challenges, takes fifth place.

Meanwhile, breakout content creators or people that saw their popularity on YouTube thrive during 2022, are also celebrated. YouTube names NichLmao to be the most popular breakout content creator in 2022.

He is followed by Airrack, who takes second place, and Jooj Natu ENG, who takes third place with 6.05 million subscribers.

On the other hand, prominent diver Shangerdanger takes fourth place with 4.04 million subscribers, while David the Baker takes fifth with 2.75 million subscribers.
