Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams Dance Goes Viral On TikTok

The highly anticipated "Wednesday" series is taking the world by storm in more ways than one, as one of its scenes featuring title actress Jenna Ortega is going viral as a new TikTok trend.

The scene shows Ortega, who plays the titular role of Wednesday, busting out some impressive dance moves to the song "Goo Goo Muck" by The Cramps.

Wednesday's Funky Goth Dance Is Sweeping The Internet

According to Decider, people have been buzzing about the new "Wednesday" series since it came out, and even more now that they got to watch Ortega's acting choices to portray Wednesday.

In fact, the internet's favorite scene from the series reflects one of Ortega's acting choices as the actress reportedly choreographed the viral dance herself for Wednesday.

The actress reveals in one of her interviews that she was insecure about the dance moves she has put together for the scene, but has thanked the 80's goth dancers for inspiring her moves.

Aside from this, the famous scene pays homage to another classic "Addams Family" moment where the original Wednesday teaches Lurch to dance.

Games Radar reports that as of writing, the clip from the series has been viewed almost 6 million times on Twitter and almost 3 million times on YouTube.

On TikTok, hundreds of thousands of users are reacting to the scene, with some even recreating the dance, making another viral dance trend on the platform.

However, TikTok creators opted to recreate the Wednesday Addams dance to Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary," which made the song reappear on the charts.

Because of the TikTok trend, the 2011 Lady Gaga hit amassed 700,000 Spotify plays in just one day as the first creator to initiate this trend's video records 29 million views in one day.

Fans Have Been Sharing Their Love For The Dance By Making Different Renditions

According to CNet, fans enjoyed the viral dance craze so much that many have taken it to make their own renditions, including some done in ice skates.

However, some of the videos becoming huge hits are those with cultural twists from Asian creators, specifically ones inspired by Indian and Polynesian dances.

While others danced to Lady Gaga, these dance creators took the original song Ortega danced to in the series to show off their cultural dance moves.

One of these renditions of the Wednesday Addams dance features a lifestyle creator known by the handle raasibomma, who incorporated the Indian dance style Kuchipudi to the trend.

The said video has now gained over 5 million views as the creator showcased her dance that combines Indian and popular cultures, NBC News writes.

TikTok user llalouu_ is another dancer whose videos gained over 3.5 million views as she performed the viral dance with a blend of Polynesian dance styles.

Because of this, TikTok users rave about their performances all over the comment section, amazed by how the school dance scene can be turned into a beautiful cultural piece.
